Red Sox and Yankees meet without much hype for weekend series

The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees will face off this weekend in a three-game series at Yankee Stadium starting June 5, 2026. The Red Sox, last in the AL East at 26-35, find themselves 10.5 games behind the Yankees, who are currently in second place. Interest in the matchup is muted due to Boston's recent struggles and the absence of Yankees star Aaron Judge, who is on the injured list. Pitching matchups also lack marquee names, with several key players sidelined. Both teams have had a one-sided rivalry recently, with the Yankees winning eight of the last ten encounters.
