Red Sox complete four-game sweep of Yankees amid playoff race tensions
Summary

The Boston Red Sox achieved a four-game sweep of the New York Yankees at Fenway Park, winning the series finale 5-4 in extra innings. This victory improved Boston's standing in the American League, narrowing their deficit to 4.5 games from the wild-card spot. Despite the successful weekend, radio host Marc Bertrand expressed skepticism about the team's playoff chances, deeming the sweep as having 'absolutely nothing' to do with their potential for a midseason turnaround. The Red Sox, who have struggled against division rivals, will aim to maintain momentum in their upcoming three-game series against the Washington Nationals.
