Red Sox designate Danny Coulombe for assignment ahead of bonus

The Boston Red Sox designated pitcher Danny Coulombe for assignment on July 12, 2026, just one game shy of reaching a contract bonus. Coulombe had a 4.50 ERA in 29 relief appearances this season, and the decision allows the team to clear roster space as Brayan Bello returns to the majors. If unclaimed, Coulombe may opt for free agency or head to Triple-A. His contract included various performance-related bonuses for game appearances, which he fell short of achieving with this move.
