Red Sox place Nick Sogard on IL, call up Anthony Seigler from Triple-A

The Boston Red Sox placed utilityman Nick Sogard on the 10-day injured list on June 3 due to right side soreness. Sogard had recently contributed to the team's best offensive stretch, hitting safely in eight of nine games after making his season debut on May 17. Anthony Seigler has been promoted from Triple-A Worcester to replace Sogard. Seigler, who was acquired earlier this year, has performed well in the minors, batting.298 with three home runs in 30 games.
