Red Sox secure Garrett Crochet's future with $170 million contract update

The Boston Red Sox have secured Garrett Crochet through at least the 2031 season after a $15 million club option was triggered due to his lengthy injury absence. Crochet, a left-handed starter, cannot opt out of his contract after 2030 following a minimum of 120 days on the injured list. This update comes amid a strong season for the Red Sox, who have seen a turnaround with a recent 15-game winning streak and are expected to be active buyers as the trade deadline approaches. The contract details enhance the Red Sox's long-term plans as they build the team around key talents like Crochet.
