The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Curtis Mead from the Washington Nationals for left-handed pitcher Connelly Early before their game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Following their 6-1 victory over the Blue Jays, the Red Sox activated Mead to their MLB roster, optioning Tsung-Che Cheng to Triple-A Worcester.
