Red Wings expect Arvidsson to join top six forwards this season

The Detroit Red Wings signed Viktor Arvidsson and Wilmer Skoog during NHL free agency. Red Wings vice president Nicklas Lidstrom confirmed that Arvidsson, coming off a 25-goal season with the Boston Bruins, will play among the team's top six forwards. Skoog, a less experienced player, is expected to start the season in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Lidstrom has noted that Arvidsson’s familiarity with head coach Todd McLellan from their time with the LA Kings will benefit the team.
