Tonight, Redneck Brawl 14 is live from Johnson City, Tennessee! Bad Left Hook has live coverage! | Redneck Brawl The brightest ray of sunshine in a long, hot summer shines tonight in the form of Redneck Brawl 14: Hillbilly Slugfest! Tonight’s action comes to us from Johnson City, Tennessee, the second consecutive Tennessee-based Brawl after #13, the Hillbilly Throwdown in Knoxville, and the latest installment in the wildest, craziest, and all-around most entertaining show in the outer orbits of the sport of boxing. Tonight’s spotlight fight features controversial Brawl veteran and human bulldozer with limited punching power and resistance Sasquatch against viral video sensation and pillow-padded butt enthusiast Frankie LaPenna. It won’t anchor the show, perhaps because LaPenna is 13” shorter than Sasquatch, or perhaps because Sasquatch fights are generally godawful except for the rare occasions he faces someone tall and heavy enough to take away his fondness for stiff-arming people into corners and over the ring ropes. Instead, the main event will see Tennessee Cornbread, a strong contender for the Brawl’s top pound-for-pound active fighter, fighting J-Money, last seen knocking out a man effectively blindfolded by a loose headband back in May. Devoted Brawl followers are also excited about the promising all-action matchup between proven lady sluggers NyQuil and Meat N Taters. Other returning favorites include Man Bear Pig, Lil’s Smokey and Fire, Big Daddy T, Macho Man, Bocephus, Trainwreck Tracy, and facial self-flagellation enthusiast Big Rick from 606. Joining the action for the first time are Appalachian Tarzan, Take A Shot Brandy, One-Leg Big Ed, Toothless Assassin, Off Grid Misty, The Intubator, Lawd Ghetto Meat, and a winner-take-something showdown between Big Thumper and Throat Goat. There are 35 scheduled amateur bouts, though not all are guaranteed to make it into the ring. Any Brawl-a-holic can tell you fights get scrubbed for all sorts of reasons, including gross intoxication, early-stage kidney failure, uncontrollable retching due to nerves and oversized mouthpieces, or fighters just plain not showing up on fight night. But, you’ll see dozens of rollicking matchups, each set for three one-minute rounds. Winners get $500 and a champion’s crown, losers get a story to tell about fighting on television. If you’re unfamiliar with this phenomenal show, you can get a feel for it from our recap of Brawl #13 linked above, or the recap of Brawl #12 back in February. We’ve been covering these shows for two and a half years, all the way back to Brawl #5, and they never stop delivering laughter, excitement, and fun for all legal adult ages.
