Reggie Miller praises Knicks' chances amid contract uncertainty

Summary

Reggie Miller expressed confidence in the New York Knicks during a conference call ahead of their season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers. He noted that captain Jalen Brunson's leadership could keep the team focused despite ongoing contract negotiations with Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart. The Knicks recently decided to pause these negotiations, which has left Towns disappointed. Miller indicated that while contract uncertainty might distract the team, Brunson’s presence can help maintain their championship mindset as they seek to defend their title. The Knicks are set to raise their first championship banner since 1973 at the season opener on Tuesday.
