Rennes pursues Lazio centre-forward Boulaye Dia on transfer deadline day

Rennes is actively negotiating with Lazio to sign centre-forward Boulaye Dia before the summer transfer window closes. The club is seeking to bolster its attacking options for the upcoming Ligue 1 and Europa League campaigns. Despite having Estéban Lepaul on the roster, current personnel have struggled to establish significant playing time or regular production. The vacancy stems from the departure of Breel Embolo, which has left the squad lacking depth at the striker position. Dia is identified as a primary target following a difficult season in Rome where he managed only 14 starts and three goal contributions. The club is currently in talks to provide the former Reims player a path toward consistent first-team football.
