Retired running back Nick Chubb reflects on his eight-year NFL career

Former running back Nick Chubb is addressing the psychological challenges of maintaining his competitive edge after an eight-year professional career. Following his retirement after the 2025 season with the Houston Texans, Chubb describes the difficulty of reconciling his current success with the hunger he felt as an athlete early in his career. To stay driven, he returns to his hometown of Cedartown, Georgia, to train in the same weight room with his longtime coach, Mikey Worthington. Chubb finished his career with 7,349 rushing yards, 54 rushing touchdowns, and four Pro Bowl selections. He spent the majority of his time in the league with the Cleveland Browns before joining the Texans for his final season. Despite leaving the game, he continues to utilize his original training environment to maintain the physical and mental consistency that defined his career.
