Reuben Cotter challenges high tackle charge at NRL judiciary

North Queensland Cowboys forward Reuben Cotter is set to contest a Grade 2 careless high tackle charge at the NRL judiciary this Tuesday. The incident occurred during Saturday’s loss to the Canberra Raiders and resulted in a sin bin for Cotter. If the challenge is unsuccessful, the forward faces a two-match suspension, which would rule him out of the opening week of the NRL finals and potentially the start of the Rugby League World Cup. Cotter has opted to plead not guilty rather than pursuing a downgrade of the charge. The hearing is scheduled to take place at NRL headquarters. The Cowboys are preparing for an elimination final against the Cronulla Sharks in Sydney this coming Saturday.
