Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson share New England Patriots backfield duties

The New England Patriots enter the 2026 season with an unresolved rotation at running back. Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson are both expected to receive significant touches in the offense, though the exact distribution of work remains unclear. Stevenson recorded 948 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns during the 2025 season while serving as a trusted option in pass protection. Henderson, entering his second year, finished his rookie campaign with 1,132 yards from scrimmage and 10 total touchdowns. Coaches prioritize Stevenson for his consistency and reliability on passing downs, while Henderson provides explosive play potential. Stevenson may see an expanded workload early in the season as Henderson manages an ankle injury. The offensive line is expected to be healthier in 2026, which could impact the overall production of both players.
