While Jake Hager was busy getting viciously knocked out, current WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was recovering from her knee injury nearby watching it all play out. She attended Power Slap 21 and actually did an interview while she was there talking about what has kept her away from WWE for so long: Damn, that sucks for Rhea 🥲 (hope her knee recovers fast & well ❤️‍🩹) pic.twitter.com/4DnjmLYrON — iFriedNemo (@VladVilcu3) July 11, 2026 “Yeah, I hurt my knee. I got like a slight tear in my meniscus. It’s healing, it’s getting there. It’s getting stronger. I just can’t bend it very well. Kind of need to bend, guys. “I don’t know (about the recovery timeline). I tore it in a really weird spot, so it’s kind of like a little bit up in the air with just how fast my body recovers. But I’ve been out for just over a month now. I think it’s been a month and one week. “It feels better. It still starts to hurt and throb, it gets tired. I can’t get up, or bend down really slow, or kind of move side to side while crouching. So it just really gets stuck. We’ll see how it goes.” There was some hope that her injury wasn’t that bad, considering WWE never forced her to relinquish the women’s championship. There were plans in place for SummerSlam but it sure sounds like she isn’t going to be back in time for the event in Minnesota early next month. Let’s hope she isn’t out much longer than that.
