Rhode Island loses to New York in Little League Metro Regional opener

The Lincoln Little League All-Stars faced a defeat on Saturday, August 8, losing 10-3 to Port Washington of New York in their first game of the Metro Regional tournament at the A. Bartlett Giamatti Little League Leadership Training Center in Bristol, Connecticut. New York scored two runs in the first inning and four runs in the third, establishing an early lead. Rhode Island responded with two runs in the bottom of the third but could not keep pace, managing only one more run before New York added three in the final inning. Lincoln's next game is on Sunday, August 9, at 7 p.m., against the loser of the Connecticut versus New Jersey match.
