Ricardo Quaresma and the legacy of his signature trivela move

Ricardo Quaresma, known by the nickname Ricky Carisma, gained notoriety in the early 2000s for his mastery of the trivela. This technique involved striking the ball with the outside of the foot to create a specific, deceptive trajectory. After moving from Porto to Inter in August 2008, the winger debuted against Catania and scored using his signature method. Despite a strong start, tactical shifts under José Mourinho limited his opportunities as the team transitioned back to a 4-3-1-2 formation. Quaresma eventually moved to Chelsea on loan before returning to Inter for the 2009/10 season. He made 13 appearances during that campaign, including two cameos in the Champions League, ultimately securing a place in the squad that won the tournament.
