Richard Childress Racing announces front-office changes and crew chief search

Richard Childress Racing president Mike Verlander confirmed that there is no set timeline to replace Richard Boswell as Austin Dillon's crew chief following a recent front-office overhaul. Boswell, who has been with RCR for the past two seasons, will transition to vice president of competition in 2027. Verlander stated that the team is exploring both internal and external candidates for the position, emphasizing that the search will not be rushed. Additionally, Art Trejo has been appointed as the director of development and innovation after joining RCR from SpaceX. These changes come after a challenging season for RCR, during which neither driver made the Chase, with Austin Hill set to drive the No. 33 full-time in 2027.
