What they're saying
"

During a new interview with The Takedown on SI, bald AEW star Ricochet was asked about how the locker room is doing right now. Ricochet said despite what you may see on the internet, things are awesome backstage in AEW. Almost everyone is willing to put their egos aside to make AEW better, and that has helped improve the quality of their TV shows. “We have such a good locker room right now. And honestly, since I’ve gotten there [in August 2024], it’s been awesome. It just reminds me of, back in the day on the indies when we would all travel, and everyone was just there to help the show be great. You know? Obviously everyone has their egos, everyone has their personalities, everyone has their attitudes, whatever you want to say, but at the end of the day, I think 97% of who we got in our locker room, I think everyone wants to make AEW the best, the biggest that it can be. And I think for the most part, most people, and despite what you may hear on the dirt sheets, or whatever, for the most part, people put away their egos for the better of the story. I think now, especially these past three months, sometimes we’ve had to put the story aside to kind of show tribute to those who helped make the locker room so good. But for the most part, yeah, it’s been great, and [everyone knows] what their job is. They know today’s not about me, today is about you. But today is not about you, today is about me. Today’s about the group, or today’s about whatever. So I think, things like that, it’s only going in the right direction. I feel like the past two years since I’ve been there, a little over two years now, it’s just gotten better and better. And I feel like the product has shown that as well.” Do you think Ricochet’s 97% estimate is accurate when it comes to the portion of people in the AEW locker room who aren’t selfish douchebags? Does that automatically translate to a better wrestling TV show? Give us your reaction to Ricochet’s remarks in the comments below, Cagesiders.
