Riley Jones extends Cronulla Sharks contract through 2027

Cronulla Sharks utility Riley Jones has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him with the club through the 2027 season. The 25-year-old made his club debut last weekend in the centres during a narrow loss to the Melbourne Storm. Originally debuting for the Newcastle Knights as a hooker in 2023, Jones shifted positions during his time with the Newtown Jets. Sharks general manager of football Darren Mooney noted that the team expects further development from the player as he integrates into the backline. Jones is named to appear in the Sharks' upcoming elimination final against the North Queensland Cowboys at Allianz Stadium this Saturday. His re-signing arrives as the club prepares for a roster transition involving several departing players at the conclusion of the year.
