Ritomo Miyata secures first Formula 2 victory in inaugural Madrid sprint

Ritomo Miyata claimed his first FIA Formula 2 victory during the inaugural Sprint Race held in Madrid on September 12, 2026. Starting from the second position, the Hitech driver moved into the lead on the run to Turn 1. Miyata managed two Safety Car restarts effectively to finish more than two and a half seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Emerson Fittipaldi, who started on pole, crossed the line in second place to secure his maiden F2 podium finish. Laurens van Hoepen completed the podium in third.
