Rob Jones announces retirement from professional cricket after 2026 season

Worcestershire top-order batter Rob Jones has declared he will retire from professional cricket at the end of the current season. Jones, 30, joined Worcestershire on a permanent basis in 2024 after initially coming on loan from Lancashire in 2023. He has primarily played in One-Day fixtures, achieving 779 runs in 24 List A innings, with a notable performance of 110 not out in 2025. Head coach Alan Richardson praised Jones for his work ethic and embodiment of Worcestershire's values.
