Rob Refsnyder retires abruptly at 35 after Mariners release

Rob Refsnyder, a veteran outfielder who spent parts of three seasons with the New York Yankees, has retired at the age of 35. His decision comes after being released by the Seattle Mariners and opting not to sign with the Houston Astros. Originally selected by the Yankees in the fifth round of the 2012 MLB Draft, Refsnyder played 1,459 games in his career, hitting 37 home runs and recording 165 RBIs.
