Robbie Neilson has taken the head coach position at Chinese Super League club Shenzhen Peng City, leaving his role as assistant at Lommel SK. During his time at Lommel, Neilson helped the team secure promotion to Belgium’s top flight. His departure comes after discussions for a contract extension, as he expressed interest in returning to a head coaching role. At Shenzhen, he will reunite with former colleagues, including assistant Gordon Forrest. Neilson replaces Chen Tao, who departed the club last month.

"Former Hearts and Dundee United manager Robbie Neilson has joined Chinese Super League club Shenzhen Peng City as head coach after having "a wonderful time" as Lommel SK assistant. Neilson joined Lommel last summer as assistant to ex-Hibs boss Lee Johnson and the pair led the club to promotion to Belgium's top flight. Lommel are part of the City Football Group with Shenzhen Peng City and Manchester City among others.
