Robert Tonyan signs with Steelers to reunite with Aaron Rodgers

Summary

Tight end Robert Tonyan has signed a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, reuniting with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. After a lackluster season with the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played only 12 percent of offensive snaps, Tonyan aims to revitalize his role under new Steelers coach Mike McCarthy. He previously excelled in 2020 with Rodgers, catching 11 touchdown passes. Tonyan's signing comes amid uncertainty in the Chiefs' tight end position, as the team did not prioritize the position in the draft and relies heavily on Travis Kelce.
