Rochester Red Wings defeat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 3-1

The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 3-1 on Monday, shifting the second-half standings. Jared Kelenic drove in the only run for the RailRiders in the second inning after Kenedy Corona reached base and stole second. The Red Wings responded with single runs in the fourth and sixth innings before adding an insurance run on an RBI triple by Sam Petersen in the later stages. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre pitcher Alexander Cornielle allowed two runs and four hits over six innings, striking out seven batters despite walking four.
