Rochester Red Wings protect division lead during final stretch of season

The Rochester Red Wings hold a one-game lead in the International League second-half standings with 11 games remaining in the regular season. Following a 3-1 victory against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders on September 8, the team currently maintains a 38-26 record. The clubs are engaged in a critical six-game homestand in Rochester that features five remaining meetings between the two teams. Rochester currently holds the best overall record in Triple-A baseball at 83-54, placing them in contention for a playoff berth for the first time since 2013. Winning the second half would secure a spot in the International League Championship Series against the Memphis RedBirds.
