Rockies place Freeland on injured list, promote Blake Adams

The Colorado Rockies placed Kyle Freeland on the 15-day injured list due to cervical radiculopathy, retroactive to August 21. Freeland exited his outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 19. In his 23 starts this season, he holds a 4-10 record with a 6.37 ERA. The team also selected right-handed pitcher Blake Adams from Triple-A Albuquerque, who has a 2-5 record with an 8.10 ERA this season.
