Rockies reinstate José Quintana, option Gabriel Hughes to Triple-A

The Colorado Rockies reinstated left-handed pitcher José Quintana from the 60-day injured list on September 19, 2026. Quintana, who has been out since May 24 due to a left elbow strain, is set to make his 10th start of the season against the Seattle Mariners tonight. As part of the roster moves, the Rockies optioned rookie right-hander Gabriel Hughes to Triple-A Albuquerque and designated infielder Vimael Machín for assignment after he struggled in his brief time with the team.
