Rockies reinstate Kyle Freeland from 15-day injured list

The Colorado Rockies have reinstated left-handed pitcher Kyle Freeland from the 15-day injured list prior to their game against the San Diego Padres tonight. Freeland has been sidelined since August 24 due to cervical radiculopathy, following an outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 19 where he allowed four runs. Freeland is expected to pitch in two more games this season. To accommodate his return, right-hander Blas Castaño has been optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque. The Rockies also recalled catcher/DH Braxton Fulford and optioned infielder Vimael Machín after he participated in three games this month.
