Rodri agrees to join Barcelona, frustrating Real Madrid and Mourinho

Summary

Rodri has confirmed his decision to join FC Barcelona, turning down an offer from Real Madrid. Reports indicate that the agreement comes after stalled negotiations between Real Madrid and Manchester City, where Rodri was seen as a key target for the La Liga club. Jose Mourinho, newly appointed as Real Madrid's manager, aimed to sign a midfielder capable of controlling play, a role Rodri was expected to fill following the retirement of Toni Kroos. Barcelona has moved quickly to finalize the signing, engaging with Rodri through conversations about their sporting project and team role. The next steps for Barcelona involve completing the transfer from Manchester City.
