Rodri shifts focus from Real Madrid to Barcelona amid transfer talks

Summary

Rodri's potential move from Manchester City has taken a turn, leaning towards Barcelona instead of Real Madrid. Initially considered a target for Madrid following his standout performance in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, recent reports indicate Rodri now prefers Barça, with sources stating he has informed Madrid of his decision. Barcelona reportedly aims to approach City regarding the transfer, capitalizing on Rodri's desire to return to Spain. There are competing interests, as Madrid had earlier agreed on personal terms with the midfielder, but stalled club-to-club negotiations may have shifted the momentum in Barcelona's favor.
