Visa issues for Beast Mortos have hampered efforts to defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship with Sammy Guevara in the USA, but that hasn’t stopped them from staying busy in Mexico. The champs had a few matches in CMLL, and there is an upcoming title defense on Friday night. Sammy also flew back and forth across the border to sandwich in a trios title bout in AEW. The busy weekend began in Arena Mexico when Sammy, Mortos, and Black Tiger lost a trios bout to Villano III Jr., Hijo del Villano III, and Barbaro Cavernario on Friday night (June 5). Villano III Jr. pinned Mortos, and the winner requested a shot at the ROH tag titles. Sammy accepted the challenge. More on that in a bit. Sammy’s journey continued from Mexico City to Youngstown, Ohio for AEW Collision on Saturday night (June 6). Sammy joined his LFI brothers, Rush and Dralistico, to challenge the Conglomeration for the AEW World Trios Championship. Unfortunately for LFI, Orange Cassidy outsmarted them in the end to win. Sammy didn’t slow down from there. He traveled back to Mexico City to tag with Mortos in CMLL on Sunday night (June 7). LFI were victorious in a non-title bout to earn bragging rights over Gran Guerrero and Stuka Jr. Sammy nailed the GTH knee strike on Stuka Jr. for the win.
