Rohan Dennis pleads guilty to driving despite ban after wife's death

Rohan Dennis, a 36-year-old Olympic cyclist, has pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified in Adelaide Magistrates Court. This follows a five-year driving ban that was imposed after his wife, fellow cyclist Melissa Hoskins, died in a car incident in December 2023. The court heard that a previous argument led to the tragic incident where Hoskins fell from the vehicle. Dennis received a suspended jail sentence and was placed on a two-year good behavior bond. Prosecutors are seeking to refer the case to District Court for additional proceedings regarding the driving offence and the breach of the good behavior bond. Dennis's next court appearance is scheduled for September.
