Roma loans Anass Salah-Eddine to Panathinaikos with option to buy

Roma reached an agreement to send defender Anass Salah-Eddine to Panathinaikos on a season-long loan. The deal includes an option to buy but does not contain a mandatory purchase clause. The 24-year-old Morocco international is expected in Greece today to undergo medical testing and finalize the contract. Salah-Eddine, who joined Roma from FC Twente in February 2025, struggled to secure a place in the squad under coach Gian Piero Gasperini, recording only one assist in three appearances. He spent the previous campaign on loan at PSV Eindhoven. This move allows the Serie A club to reduce their roster size by offloading players outside of the head coach’s current project, utilizing the extended transfer window remaining in the Greek league.
