Roma sign Martin De Roon and Leonardo Balerdi for roster reinforcement

Roma bolstered their roster by signing Martin De Roon from Atalanta and Leonardo Balerdi from Olympique Marseille. The club pivoted to these moves after failing to finalize transfers for Jayden Oosterwolde and Morato. De Roon joins the midfield to replace Neil El Aynaoui, who is set to join RB Leipzig in a deal valued at approximately €29 million. Roma opted against further pursuit of external fullbacks, citing the performance of youth player Emanuele Lulli, while pursuing deals for Luiz Henrique and Jamie Leweling to address frontline needs. These additions serve as experienced alternatives as the team shifts its strategy following previous personnel decisions. The club maintains active negotiations for potential attacking reinforcements should Matias Soulé leave the squad.
