Ronda Rousey jokes about Becky Lynch's MMA aspirations

At one point Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey seemed to be on the cusp of a possibly era-defining rivalry. Fast forward almost a decade, and it seems unlikely we’ll never get a one-on-one match between the two combat sports icons. Rousey hasn’t ruled out pro wrestling completely from her future, but she probably won’t return to WWE any time soon, and that’s where Lynch figures to end her career. Ronda’s also said that her quick finish of Gina Carrano on Netflix last month was the last time she’ll fight mixed martial arts professionally, so even if Becky wasn’t joking and being self-deprecating on this week’s What’s Your Story? podcast when she told Stephanie McMahon that working with Ronda made her think she could give MMA a go, that fight would probably never happen in a cage or Octagon, either. But that quick quote to Steph, which specifically went like this: “Wrestling her [Rousey], there was one time when she beat me up and I remember thinking — not because I could fight back, but I was like, ‘Ah, I can take a beating. Maybe I could go into MMA. I think I can take it.’ “But then — that lasted one week [laughs]. Actually one week is generous.” It was enough to get Ronda in the comments of an Instagram aggregating that quote from Bex: Lmao what she doesn’t realize is that I was very very nice to her 😂 Well, if we’re never getting that singles match, at least we’re all laughing… some of us until we’re assless!
