The University of Alabama National Alumni Association has named Ronny Robertson and George Teague as the 2026 recipients of the Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athlete Award. The two former Crimson Tide players will be honored on September 5 during the Alabama football team's season-opening home game against East Carolina in Tuscaloosa. Robertson, a Gadsden native, played linebacker for the university between 1970 and 1974 before later serving as a senior associate athletics director for development. Teague played defensive back for Alabama from 1989 to 1993, gaining national attention for his performance in the 1992 national championship game victory over Miami. The award, established in 1988, recognizes former athletes for their post-collegiate contributions to society, professional achievement, and outstanding character.
