Rookie tight end Oscar Delp prepares for Saints season opener against Lions

New Orleans Saints rookie tight end Oscar Delp is expected to be available for the team's regular season opener against the Detroit Lions this Sunday. The 22-year-old was a third-round selection in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Georgia, where he recorded 70 receptions for 854 yards over his collegiate career. Although Delp missed time during the preseason due to an injury, he has since transitioned from jersey No. 88 to No. 4. While Juwan Johnson remains the primary starter at the position, the team plans to integrate Delp into a larger offensive role throughout his debut season.
