Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler paired at the FedEx St Jude Championship

Rory McIlroy returns to the PGA Tour at the FedEx St Jude Championship in Memphis, having not played since The Open at Royal Birkdale. He is paired with Scottie Scheffler, the world number one, for the first two rounds. Historically, Scheffler has outperformed McIlroy in their recent groupings, winning six of their last ten competitive rounds. McIlroy's last five rounds against Scheffler have also resulted in him trailing. Despite not having practiced for three weeks, McIlroy faces the challenge of competing against one of the best in the sport as the event progresses.
