Ross Smith wins Hungarian Darts Trophy with victory over Gary Anderson

Ross Smith secured his second European Tour title of 2026 by defeating Gary Anderson 8-2 in the Hungarian Darts Trophy final at the MVM Dome in Budapest on Sunday. Smith, who averaged 101 in the final, previously earned his maiden European Tour crown earlier this year at the International Darts Open. His victory in Budapest moves him to the top of the 2026 European Tour rankings. Runner-up Gary Anderson reached his first European Tour final since July 2025 by advancing through a series of close matches, including a deciding-leg win against Nathan Aspinall in the semi-finals. The European Tour is scheduled to resume in Prague with the Czech Darts Open, which takes place from September 4-6.
