Rotherham United has appointed Alex Bruce as head coach on a two-year deal. Bruce, 41, previously served as assistant manager at Salford City and had a brief tenure at Macclesfield during the 2023-24 season. He takes over a club that finished second bottom of League One, where Lee Clark was the interim manager after the dismissal of Matt Hamshaw in March. Bruce's first competitive match will be in the EFL Cup first round against West Bromwich Albion, a team he has coached previously.
