Royals sign pitcher Tony Gonsolin to contract with club option

The Kansas City Royals have signed pitcher Tony Gonsolin to a contract that includes a club option for the 2027 season. Gonsolin, who was placed on the 15-day Injured List, will help the Royals continue to rebuild their pitching depth. He previously played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he earned All-Star recognition in 2022, but has struggled with injuries since then, including Tommy John surgery in 2024 and elbow discomfort in 2025. To accommodate Gonsolin on the roster, the Royals designated pitcher Eli Morgan for assignment.
