Royce Lewis homers, Twins rally to top Mariners 5-3

Royce Lewis hit a game-tying home run in the seventh inning, and Luke Keaschall followed with a go-ahead double as the Minnesota Twins defeated the Seattle Mariners 5-3 on August 1 in Seattle. The Twins have now won seven of their last nine games, achieving a winning record for the first time since April 21. Seattle, meanwhile, has lost three consecutive games and eight of its last ten, slipping further behind the AL West-leading Houston. Yoendrys Gómez secured his 14th save after Kody Funderburk pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings. The Mariners placed third baseman J.P. Crawford on the 10-day injured list due to left wrist inflammation. Seattle's Logan Gilbert is set to start against Connor Prielipp of Minnesota in the next game.
