Rui Hachimura scored 29 points for Japan in a 106-78 victory over Saudi Arabia on August 27, 2026, during a FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifier. The Los Angeles Clippers' recent signee shot 11-of-14 from the field and recorded four rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block. Hachimura’s performance was particularly encouraging, as he demonstrated his shooting ability while remaining injury-free following his previous major international tournament experience, where he suffered an injury.
