Rui Oliveira triumphed in the final stage of the Volta a Portugal on August 16, winning in his hometown of Porto. The victory was dedicated to the family of Finlay Tarling, a British rider who tragically passed away after an accident during stage eight. While Oliveira celebrated his first professional road victory, the overall race leader, Alexis Guerin, was secured without challenge.
