Runners gather at Bojangles Boplex for Around the Crown expo

Thousands of participants visited the Bojangles Boplex in east Charlotte on September 4 to prepare for the upcoming Around the Crown race. Runners collected race bibs, T-shirts, and promotional gear ahead of the Sunday event. Organizers prepared hydration stations and cooling equipment at the venue to assist athletes with expected race day temperatures. As part of a tradition, attendees signed a banner designated to hang over Interstate 277 for the race course. Community organizations, such as the Active Dad group, are scheduled to participate in the run. Bib pickup and equipment distribution will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The race broadcast begins Sunday at 7 a.m., with elite runners scheduled to start the course at 7:30 a.m.
