Russell Westbook joins Project B as co-founder and chief strategy officer

Former NBA player Russell Westbook has moved into an executive role at the emerging Project B basketball league. The nine-time All-Star, who retired this summer following an 18-year career, will serve as chief strategy officer and join the board of directors. Westbook also holds an equity stake in the organization. While his professional career concluded earlier this year, there is no indication he will participate as a player in the new league. Project B remains in development and is currently scheduled to launch in early 2027. This appointment represents the highest-profile addition to the front office of the upcoming league to date.
