Rutgers and Boston College plan 9/11 tribute uniforms for upcoming football game

Rutgers and Boston College will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with memorial uniforms during their game this Friday at Alumni Stadium. Rutgers players will wear helmets featuring the number 37 to honor the university alumni lost in the attacks, while their uniforms will display the phrase "NEVER FORGET." Boston College will continue its annual Red Bandanna Game tradition, wearing white jerseys with red bandana-patterned sleeves to honor Welles Crowther, a former lacrosse player who died assisting others in the South Tower. Both teams enter the matchup looking for their first victory of the season following losses in their respective openers. Rutgers fell to UMass 37-21, while Boston College lost 34-15 to Cincinnati. The game marks a significant regional intersection of collegiate tradition and historical reflection for both athletic programs.
