Rutgers and Providence finish in a 3-3 draw at Yurcak Field

Rutgers and Providence played to a 3-3 draw Sunday night at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Scarlet Knights ended a scoreless drought by finding the net twice in the opening 19 minutes, with Gabriela Gil scoring early and Reilly McGlinn adding a second goal. Despite maintaining a two-goal lead for much of the match, Rutgers conceded three times to the Friars, including two goals in a 69-second span late in the game. Rutgers entered the contest with an 0-1-2 record and had not scored since August 13. Providence, which remains unbeaten at 2-0-3, capitalized on late pressure to secure the draw. Coach Mike O’Neill utilized nine substitutes during the match but kept the starting lineup intact for the duration of the second half.
