Rutgers football ranks low in NIL budget among Big Ten teams

Rutgers football's NIL roster budget is estimated at $20-$23 million, placing them 14th out of 18 Big Ten teams and 46th in the Power 4. The only teams with lower budgets are Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, and Purdue. Rutgers has lost its first two games this season against UMass and Boston College, with Boston College having the lowest reported budget in the Power 4 at $8-13 million. The Scarlet Knights' athletic director, Keli Zinn, acknowledged that the program still needs to significantly enhance its NIL infrastructure to compete effectively in the conference.
